Primary and Secondary Sort

Collection Sort  includes Primary and Secondary sorting options. This allows you to group properties based on a major category, such as Type of Object, Medium, or Artist, etc. and then apply a secondary order within that defined category.

To access:

• Go to the Collection tab and click on Collection Settings 
• Under Primary Sort, you can select the field you wish to use to group the properties (e.g. Type of Object).
• Under Secondary Sort, you can establish the order properties will follow within the group defined by the Primary Sort (e.g artist name).

In this case, the Type of Object (e.g. paintings) are grouped together, then ordered alphabetically by artist name.
